The first thing I got was a Graco Pack'n'Play for the baby. We never quite found the money to buy one when Rylee was born (what with all the other things that needed to be bought). Since my mom bought one for her house, though, we always had one available to borrow. This time I decided that I was going to need one around the house, especially, with a toddler running around as well. This one sells normally for about $130, but I got it for only $27! It is the deluxe model with bassinet, changing table, canopy, vibrator, night light and music box. Rylee already loves putting her baby dolls in it to play!
My next great deal came last Friday when JJ Cole had their last wear house sale here in Logan. Rylee and I had to stand in line for just over an hour to get in, but it was definitely worth it. We got the System 180 diaper bag I have had my eye on since Ry was born, an infant car seat canopy that will be perfect for summer weather, and two more vinyl bibs. The bag normally sells for $70, which is why I had not purchased one yet. As much as I believe in having only the finest for my babies, I couldn't justify spending that much money on something to put diapers and bottles in. Through the wear house sale, though, I was able to find one for only $21! We already had several of the vinyl bibs and I have loved them so much that when I saw them on sale for only $2.50 I couldn't resist buying a couple more. I have never been much of a salesman, but these bibs are worth every penny (even when not on sale)! I love how easy they are to simply wipe off after a meal, meaning that I don't have to wash each one after only a single meal. With three to four meals a day I was washing a load of the regular cloth bibs every other day. Now we only have to do laundry once a week! We got all of these fantastic baby things for less than 1/3 of what they would cost normally.
My final good deal was a Christmas present for Rylee. Earlier this week we found a Jessie doll (from Toy Story 2) in one of my boxes in the basement and Rylee hasn't put it down for more than five minutes total. I decided that since she likes Jessie so much she might like a matching Woody doll for Christmas. When I got online to look at the Disney store, though, they didn't have one that was soft and cuddly like Jessie. By pure luck, however, I ran across a deal where I could get plush Princess and the Frog dolls for a great deal. With a few credit card reward points, I was able to get both of these for less than $3. Since Rylee watches the Princes and the Frog at least three times a day, I'm hoping that these will be a big hit Christmas morning.
