A week and a half ago my baby girl turned three years old! I can't believe she is that old already!! (Why is it that the pregnancy part last forever and then time speeds by after that?) Anyway, we celebrated Ry's birthday all week! On the Wednesday before her birthday Grandma and Grandpa Alderman brought Pat, Mike and Eileen to Logan for a visit. Rylee got to open her present from them while they were here and she didn't take it off for three days! Doesn't she look so grown up in those shoes, though?
On Friday Rylee and I spent all day baking Oreo cupcakes (Yum!!) for Saturday. Grandma Great dropped in to bring Rylee a present and wish her happy birthday while we were baking. Rylee loves the Clifford dog Grandma brought and is still wearing her birthday crown a week and a half later!
Saturday morning we packed up the jeep and got ready to go to Bear Lake for a day of fun! Rylee got to open one of her presents from mom and dad before we left so that she would have something fun to do during the car ride. (We absolutely love Color Wonder markers and coloring books!)
Then we picked Grandma up and made the drive to Bear Lake. It was crazy busy because only a couple of beaches were open (the water is so so high this year!), but we eventually found a spot at North Beach and set up camp. Breanna followed us over, too, to play for the day before she had to go back to work at Pickleville. We splashed in the water, ate cupcakes, played in the sun, ate more cupcakes, built a sand castle and ate even more cupcakes. The wind picked up really bad in the afternoon so we had to scramble to pack up and leave. Rylee cried because she wanted to stay "for ever and ever" (she definitely is mama's water baby), but decided we could leave after Grandma promised we could stop for ice cream on the way home.
After we got home and got everything cleaned up, Rylee got to open her other presents from mom, dad and Jayden. One was a new nightgown with the Princess and the Frog on it.
Ry's big present from us was a Rapunzel art kit. It came with paper, paints and brushes. We also got her colored pencils, crayons and stickers so that she could play with it by herself when we weren't able to help her paint. She has had so much fun with it! She loves to color and has done extremely well with the painting (even though I was a little nervous about starting that kind of mess)!
On Sunday we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house for dinner and more presents. Uncle Mike and Aunt Suzanne gave Rylee a Mater toy from Cars 2 that talks and has a real headlight. Grandma and Grandpa got Rylee a new (more age appropriate) puzzle and some blocks that have holes so she can lace shoelaces through them to make necklaces, etc. They also bought her some new sandals, but she got those early since she didn't have any sandals to wear to the beach yet. She is such a spoiled little girl!!
And, of course, we ate more cupcakes!!!
