Hogle Zoo Annual Trip

Last Saturday we took our annual trip to Hogle Zoo!  Rylee had so much more fun this year.  She knows all the different animals and what sounds they make now.  It was great to get to take her around to all of them and show her what the real ones look like.  First we took our traditional pictures by the elephants:

Then later we watched the bird show.  Rylee was pretty excited about seeing the birds flying over our heads.  (Although, Uncle Mike was more excited than anyone!)

This last one made me laugh when we realized that we took the exact same picture last year:

Later we took Rylee for rides on the carousel.  Her favorite part of any amusement park is riding the "horsies".  We rode them when we went to Disneyland in May and several times when we went to Lagoon later in the summer.  She was not disappointed this time, either.  We went for three rides on the zoo carousel!

And, of course, we stopped to say hi to the "grandpa monkey"!

Daddy also had fun taking Rylee to play in the lion water fountain:

We had tickets to ride the train, but when we got there the train was closed.  So instead we played in the water ball sculpture for a while:

Finally, no trip to the zoo is complete without a souvenir from the gift shop!
